CHANDIGARH: UPL has stepped up action against the manufacturing and sale of alleged lookalike versions of its patented herbicides Triskele, marketed by UPL SAS, and Trishuk, marketed by SWAL, following enforcement-led raids in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab.

The company said it has reiterated its commitment to protecting its intellectual property rights and warned that strict legal and financial action would be taken against entities found involved in violations.

According to the company, it has identified products in the market with branding and packaging that closely resemble Trishuk and Triskele and are being sold at significantly lower prices. Such products, it said, have the potential to create confusion among farmers.

UPL also urged farmers and channel partners to exercise caution while purchasing crop protection products. The company advised buyers to carefully check product packaging, manufacturing and expiry dates, and other key product information before making a purchase.

The company further cautioned that products sold at unusually low prices may not be genuine and could adversely affect crop performance over the long term.
